Shape x colour - literal (4x4): Knight shields - learn to sort in a double-entry table.

Where does each knight shield belong? In this interactive activity for preschoolers, children learn to sort images correctly in a double-entry table. Each time, the child looks at two characteristics of a shield: its shape and its colour. The child then drags each knight shield to the correct cell in the 4x4 matrix.

The shapes are shown in the rows and the colours in the columns. To find the correct cell, preschoolers must recognise and combine both characteristics at the same time. In this playful way, they practise classifying, sorting and logically combining properties.

This matrix activity stimulates logical thinking and helps preschoolers develop an understanding of double-entry tables. They learn that one image has a unique position in the table based on two different characteristics. This provides an important foundation for mathematical thinking, organising information, and recognising patterns and relationships.

Language development also receives plenty of attention in this free educational app. The activity contains clear spoken instructions and auditory feedback. Children hear words and concepts related to shapes, colours, position and sorting. By looking, listening and interacting, they understand and remember new concepts more effectively.

By carefully comparing the different knight shields, preschoolers also practise their visual perception and concentration. They learn to focus on similarities and differences and discover that both shape and colour are important when making the correct choice.

Thanks to the simple drag-and-drop controls, children simultaneously practise their fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination and digital skills. The free app is suitable for use on tablets, computers, interactive whiteboards and other digital learning environments.

This educational matrix activity is ideal for preschool teachers, support teachers, parents and caregivers who want to work on double-entry tables, sorting, classifying, recognising shapes, recognising colours, logical thinking, visual discrimination, vocabulary, listening skills and digital literacy.

Let preschoolers discover through play where each knight shield belongs while giving them a strong foundation for mathematical understanding, language development and logical reasoning.

In the online logbook, parents and teachers can easily check afterwards which apps were used and which results were achieved.
